#MAD No 4 - October 2017 Newsletter

My message
#MAD4 starts in mid-September and reports up to end October. A bumper issue!
Our beloved and engaging RI President Ian Riseley and his charming wife and PDG Juliet energized us during their 2-day whirlwind visit to D9350. I felt so proud of our 250+ members who attended the cocktail in their honour – and made them feel as special as they are.
And what a show of chains at the Presidential luncheon. Around 30 Presidents had a personal lunch with Ian Riseley and came away with energy – and a tree (thanks to RC of Kirstenbosch who arranged them).
RFHD is fast becoming the most enjoyable and greatest project of the club where 35 sites made a huge difference to many lives. The eye screening and supply of glasses during RFHD create the most heart-warming stories. This is why we are Rotarians. To make a difference. And a difference D9350 clubs do make.
The “Foundation & Citation” mini-conference changed to a new format to be both informative and inclusive. It was a roaring success. Thanks for the record breaking ‘crowd’ of 160+ and the accolades received. It is always great to stumble on a success recipe.
My DG visits went into overdrive the last 6 weeks. Still love it; still love all our amazing clubs and still come back with a feeling of awe and wonder.
Relax; put your feet up; take a 5-minute break and read your 4th #MAD. And yes of course I am going to say it – go forth and be MAD!
Warm D9350 Rotary greetings
