Bringing big opportunities to little learners!

On September 16, 2024, members of the New Zealand Rotary Club teamed up with the Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club from South Africa to officially open the new Computer Hub at Bundles of Joy!

This exciting addition is a life-changer for early childhood education in Helderberg, giving young learners access to the latest technology and creating a fun, interactive learning experience. It’s a true reflection of Rotary’s ACT4IMPACT — showing how meaningful service can make a lasting difference in communities.

The ribbon-cutting event, hosted by Anton and Netti Lubbe, was filled with smiles and energy. Rotary members Carl-Heinz, Jo, Lynn, Paul, Woineshet, Ruth, Gail, and Elizabeth all came together to celebrate, each adding their own special touch to the day.

Highlights of the day included dancing with the adorable two-year-olds, exploring the new software in the Computer Hub, and a few friendly ball games with the older kids. Everyone left feeling inspired and grateful for this wonderful day of community and progress.

A bright future ahead

The Computer Hub at Bundles of Joy is already opening new doors for kids ages 2 to 6, many of whom come from rural, underserved areas where technology is hard to come by. This new Hub is their first step into digital literacy, giving them tools and skills that will help them in school and beyond. With fun, age-appropriate educational programs, the Hub is turning learning into an exciting, hands-on adventure!

For these kids, who may otherwise have little exposure to technology, the Hub is a bridge to new opportunities, building confidence and giving them a head start on their education. It’s more than just computers – it’s a way to help them dream bigger and reach for a brighter future.
